NEW Planet Ocean Launches TURBIBUOY Turbidity monitoring system.  Autumn 2009

 Bringing together three existing elements, TURBIBUOY gets the best from the DB-125 buoy hull, Analite NEP-395 turbidity probe and DBT-3 GPRS telemetry system to produce a simple, reliable, turnkey turbidity monitoring system for dredge monitoring general civil engineering and environmental impact assessment.

 

NEW XEOS Launch new Surface Flasher, XMBF-200.  Summer 2009

 Canadian, XEOS Technologies Inc, have released the first in a line of micro beacons.  The XMBF-200 is a submersible (to 200m) flashing beacon, which uses a high intensity LED as its light source, smaller, lighter but just as intense as alternative beacons, the XMBF-200 features three selectable modes of switching, together with a range of user selectable flash paterns and repeat times.

 

NEW WET Labs launch CYCLE-PO4  Phosphate Analyser..  Spring 2009

 US Based WET Labs have launched their exciting new in-situ dissolved phosphate analyser, to be known as CYCLE-PO4.

The CYCLE combines precision micro-fluidics with state-of-the-art optics to provide unparalleled precision and accuracy for in-situ nutrient monitoring. 

The CYCLE brings standard wet chemistry techniques to the field and is designed to be an operational sensor providing the highest quality data day after day, deployment after deployment. 

Reagent cartridge technology and the straightforward software interface allows setup in minutes. On-board calibration assures quality data analysis. Control can be autonomous or external. Fully integrates with WET Labs’ sensors for a full biogeochemical sampling system. 

Designed for unattended long term moored operations, the CYCLE-PO4 is the first of WET Lab’s line of single-analyte chemical sensors. NEW Planet Ocean joins WET Labs team.  Spring 2009

WET Labs, Inc. is proud to announce our association with Planet Ocean as our representatives in the United Kingdom.

The agreement was concluded during the 2009 Ocean Business exposition in Southampton.

NEW Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd  Spring 2009

Planet Ocean are pleased to team with SSTL to promote the use of low cost micro-satellites in oceanographic and environmental applications, primarily associated with oil and gas operations in extreme environments.

SSTL has been sending small satellites into space more successfully and more economically than anyone else in the world for nearly three decades.   With over 32 satellites launched thus far, SSTL's motto "changing the economics of space" has become a reality.  Planet Ocean's Terry Sloane says "Its normal to associate privately owned and operated satellites with extremely large price tags, but the reality is that small bespoke platforms using COTS technology are certainly affordable and can pay for themselves in very short time scales.  Planet Oceans experience in the sector with their background in space based systems, ground stations and software provide an industry sector focus for SSTL".

Planet Ocean now offer an in-house designed trawl resistant, and corrosion proof seabed frame.

 

NEW Satlantic launch new Nitrate Analyser.  Spring 2008

Satlantic have launched SUNA a new non wet chemistry Nitrate Analyser based upon the industry standard ISUS.

The new sensor is smaller, lighter, and cheaper than the original ISUS, and comes without an internal data logger, but is equal or better in performance than the earlier instrument.  SUNA has a depth rating of 500m.

 

NEW Satlantic launch new PAR sensor.  Autumn 2007

Satlantic have launched a new PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) Sensor

The sensor measures radiation from 400 - 700 nm giving an integrated value of light across this range in units of umol photons*m^-2*s^-1.  Such a sensor is widely used by oceanographers and limnologists who study primary productivity or phytoplankton physiology in the field or in the laboratory.

 

NEW Satlantic release LOBO.  Summer 2007

Satlantic have recently release their LOBO Land/Ocean , Biogeochemical Observatory
Lobo can be deployed as a traditional small buoy, jetty mount, or hydrodynamic float for river and estuary work.

INNERSPACE RELEASE NEW PWSS.

 

InnerSpace announce the release of their Jet-ski based PWSS, personal Watercraft Survey System.

 

Innerspace present the next generation integrated Personal Watercraft Surveying System (PWSS) which addresses all of the unique operating requirements expected of such a surveying solution.

 

PWSS allows fast, surveys in shallow and difficult to access locations with minimal personnel.  PWSS is provided with fully equipped vehicle, trailer, telemetry, & base station.  Innerspace have built many PWSS units in the past and have designed several major enhancements into the new model to address suggestions made by current users.

PLANET OCEAN RELEASES RANGE OF DATA BUOY PLATFORMS.

 

Planet Ocean is pleased to announce the release of its range of Data Buoy platforms.

This comprehensive range of "off the shelf" hulls incorporate a number of features that make them extremely attractive and cost effective as platforms for environmental instrumentation in all operational conditions.  Starting with the low cost 1.24m DB-124, and rising to the open ocean DB-300, 3.0 m buoy all incorporate high spec radar reflectors, self contained solar powered navigation lights, through hull deployment tubes, solar panels and integral equipment housings.  The buoys are foam filled and unsinkable. The modular design allows buoys to be broken down for transport, and include a removable top section that contains all of the electronic systems that can be removed from the hull without disturbing moorings.

 

 Planet Ocean also offers a comprehensive range of telemetry modules and instrumentation packages if required.
